It was Mariella's idea!

Mariella left a comment with the idea to re-do the top of the bag. I thought it's a good one too, and got the bag, and went right to it. Why didn't I think of it myself? I'm a person for which there is YES or NO, HOT or COLD, RIGHT-WRONG etc. you get the idea. If there's a grey area, I have a real problem. So it was either hate the bag, and the strap, and put it away in the closet, or rip it all out and start again. It never crossed my mind, to just rip out the strap and make a button hole handle for this bag. It took me one and a half hour to fix it, and now I'm pleased, still not loving it, but I can use it. Thanks, Mariella!

Perfect...now why didn't I think of that? ;) (very similar to by plastic big bad construction...minus the fact that mine is knitted and your's is crocheted)
You'll love using it I'm sure :)

The strap made it look like it might be a good beach bag, but I totally understand not being sure about it. Is the bag as sturdy as it looks being tapestry crochet? That looks like it was a good amount of work!

That is a great save! The bag was cute to begin with and now the straps don't detract from it. I like the way the colors work together and pop.

Sam is such a cutie pie! clever pup. I'd hog the a/c vent too.

Isn't Internet a nice thing sometimes? I am glad you got such helpful advise and changed the bag. It looks nice now.

I’m glad you were able to find a way to make the bag more appealing to you. I really like the bag either way. Although I have to confess I have the bag gene, which means I love almost all bags.

Liebe Monika,

Zuviel Arbeit momentan.

Ganz liebe Grüße nach Canada,
Susanne
